Champions Oncology · Model selection
Lumin is the browsable database behind every Champions Oncology model — molecular profile, treatment history, and prior drug response, linked before you build a cohort.
Overview
Most model catalogs give you a tumor type and a passage number — not the molecular profile, treatment history, or prior drug response that actually predicts whether a model can answer your question. Without that record, you either choose on incomplete information or wait on a summary emailed back and forth before you can shortlist anything with real confidence.
Lumin puts that record in front of you directly. Every model in the panel carries whole exome and transcriptome sequencing, proteomic profiling where available, clinical annotation, and — for many models — a documented history of prior treatment and response, drawn from a patient bank that has grown past the 12,000 patients last published here, placeholder pending confirmation. You browse the same data our scientists use to build a cohort.
Access covers the full patient-derived xenograft and cell line-derived xenograft panel, spanning solid tumor and hematological malignancies. Lumin does not replace a consultation: molecular data narrows the field, but a scientist still reviews feasibility, coverage gaps, and study design once you have a shortlist worth discussing.

Why researchers use Lumin
A model summary on a page is not the same as a model’s actual record. Lumin gives you the record itself — sequencing, proteomics, clinical history — so a candidate can be ruled in or out before it reaches a consultation.
That matters most when a program is narrowing fast: a resistance profile, a specific alteration, or a prior therapy class can eliminate most of a panel in minutes, rather than after several rounds of email.
Browse before you commit
Review a model’s full molecular and clinical record before it enters any conversation with our team.
Filter on what matters
Narrow the panel by tumor type, mutation status, and treatment history instead of scanning a static list.
See treatment history
Prior response to standard-of-care agents is attached to a model, where documented, not held back until you ask.
One database, every study
The same Lumin record underlies model selection across our full PDX, CDX, and specialty testing programs.
What’s inside
| Data Type | Method | What it shows | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whole exome sequencing | WES | Somatic mutation and copy-number profile | Standard |
| Transcriptome profiling | RNA-seq | Expression and pathway activity | Standard |
| Proteomics | LC-MS/MS | Protein abundance across the tumor | Cohort-dependent |
| Phospho-proteomics | LC-MS/MS | Pathway activation state | Cohort-dependent |
| Clinical annotation | Chart abstraction | Treatment history, stage, and outcome | Standard |
| Histopathology | H&E, IHC | Tumor architecture and marker expression | Standard |
| Drug response history | In vivo dosing record | Prior response to standard-of-care agents | On request |
| Growth kinetics | Serial caliper measurement | Take rate and doubling time | On request |
Data availability reflects the general panel in Lumin; confirm coverage for a specific model before finalizing a cohort.
Interface
Filter by tumor type
Narrow the panel to a single indication or a related group before you look at anything else.
Filter by mutation status
Isolate models carrying a specific alteration, or exclude ones that don’t carry it, in one step.
Filter by treatment history
Find models with documented prior exposure to a drug class, including resistant and treatment-naive cohorts side by side.
Open a full model profile
Review sequencing, proteomics, histopathology, and clinical annotation for one model before you shortlist it.
Compare models side by side
Line up candidate models against each other on the same molecular and clinical fields.
Export a shortlist
Take a candidate list into your model selection consultation instead of starting that conversation from scratch.
How it fits
Exit criterion — candidate models identified and reviewed.
Exit criterion — shortlist compiled from the Lumin record.
Exit criterion — feasibility and coverage gaps confirmed.
Exit criterion — cohort and study design signed off.
Exit criterion — study underway on the confirmed cohort.
Request log-in access and start narrowing the panel yourself, or talk to a scientist first if you’re unsure where to start.
