JEG-3

Description

JEG-3 (Choriocarcinoma CDX Model)

The JEG-3 cell line was derived from a human choriocarcinoma of placental origin. It represents a rare trophoblastic tumor model. JEG-3 has been applied in research on gestational cancers and placental biology. Its reproducibility makes it valuable for translational and mechanistic studies.

Key Features:

  • Derived from human choriocarcinoma.
  • Trophoblastic cell origin.
  • Produces human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
  • Tumorigenic in xenograft models.

Applications:
JEG-3 supports studies of choriocarcinoma progression and therapeutic evaluation. It is used in biomarker studies, particularly hCG production. Researchers employ it for rare cancer drug discovery. Its stability provides reliability in translational oncology pipelines.
