Huh-7

Description

Huh-7 (Liver Cancer CDX Model)

The Huh-7 liver cancer line was established from a hepatocellular carcinoma. It is p53-mutant and represents a well-characterized HCC model. Huh-7 has been applied in antiviral and oncologic research due to its permissiveness to hepatitis C virus. Its reproducibility makes it a versatile model for liver cancer research.

Key Features:

  • Derived from hepatocellular carcinoma.
  • TP53-mutant liver cancer line.
  • Permissive to hepatitis C virus infection.
  • Consistent xenograft tumorigenicity.

Applications:
Huh-7 supports studies of HCC drug development and biomarker validation. It is also widely used in viral oncology research. Researchers employ it to evaluate novel therapeutics targeting p53-deficient cancers. Its versatility extends across oncology and infectious disease studies.
